Achievement & Growth
Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning. -Benjamin Franklin
Achievement: Measures the amount of academic content a student learns in a determined amount of time.
Growth: The amount of academic progress made in a certain amount of time.
The video and examples above model and define how student achievement and growth happens in a classroom. It is important to understand that achievement and growth are different measuring tools for student data. Used together, achievement and growth can help the teacher plan and adjust for student academic success.
The Venn diagram above represents the most important qualities, impacts, and influences for student achievement and growth to happen. Also, how achievement and growth can help teachers to "begin with the end in mind".
